SkillUp offers Orange residents free online courses to improve their professional skills; see how – Orange Leader
Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas Partners with Region 5 Educational Service Center to Provide Residents of Orange, Jefferson, and Hardin Counties Free Access to Over 6,000 Online Career Courses Through the e-Learning System Metrix.
Through Workforce Solutions’ SkillUp initiative, residents can learn new skills or improve their work and professional skills through free online courses available on the Workforce Solutions Southwest Texas website at sets.org.
“SkillUp Southeast Texas provides residents with an invaluable opportunity to expand their knowledge and learn new skills that appeal to employers in today’s job market,” said Mary Hammon, executive director of Workforce Solutions Southeast Texas.
“In addition to technical streams and industry certifications, courses in soft skills such as time management, communication and business etiquette are also offered through the SkillUp portal. Soft skills are in high demand among employers. At recent business forums we hosted, employers across multiple sectors highlighted an increased need for these skills.”
Southeast Texas residents can explore career paths, view local job postings, enroll in free online learning, and receive workforce services – whether a person is looking for a first job, a new job or to progress in the field of his choice.
To access the free e-learning courses, an individual only needs to create a free account.
