Hockey India will hold an online coaching course

Hockey India announced on Friday that it will conduct the Basic Coaching Education Level Course, online.

This is the first time that HI has launched a call for applications from aspiring coaches via an open forum. Only 60 slots will be available for the online course.

“Applicants will be chosen on a first serve basis and the minimum criteria to apply requires that an interested applicant has coached a district, school or college hockey team for at least 3 years or played at the national level. / All India University for at least 3 years,” said a press release.

The HI Coaching Education Pathway, which launched in March last year, is a streamlined training structure that consists of a combination of online modules and face-to-face interactive lessons, underpinned by an assessment-based process on skills, which helps coaches progress to higher levels.

Candidates who successfully complete the HI Level “Basic” Coaching Course will become eligible to take the HI Level “1” Coaching Course in the future, the statement said.

There is no participation fee to attend the course. However, only candidates who successfully complete HI’s Level ‘1’ coaching course will receive the necessary certification.

“Since the launch of Hockey India Coaching Education Pathway in 2019, more than 700 coaches across India have benefited from the program and we are happy to run this program again in 2020 to continue providing a well-designed platform for young people coaches from all over the country,” said HI Official President Gyanendro Ningombam.

“The courses are for prospective coaches/coaches who have not completed any Hockey India ‘Basic’ and ‘1’ level coaching course in the past,” he added.
